Author: pennyante
Chapters: Maybe there'll be about 30, eventually? But everything's always twice as long as I think. So.
Pairing: a castfic with K/L at the center
Canonicity: Breaks the moment Kara enters Earth's coordinates in "Daybreak"

Preview: The Cylons aren't quite human, and the humans haven't quite forgiven them. Political stability is less certain than ever now that the war is over:  Lee Adama finds himself up for re-election, where being defeated will mean a Gemenese theocracy puppeteered by Leoben Conoy. Meanwhile, Kara Thrace has nothing but questions about her death and destiny. The only answers available come in the form of the vision of a temple, and from her hybrid/comatose husband's cryptic ramblings about a sister artifact to the Arrow of Apollo.

There's violence in the air. Civil war looms. Can Lee and Kara save each other, and keep the fledgling colony whole?

Author's Note: The story might rightly be called, "Demilitarization: A Love Story." I'm struggling with some questions: What happens when a state of permanent total war seems to suddenly end? How do you fulfill longings that are badly damaged by repeated trauma? And who can keep peace among people so rightly bitter?

I really am coming to love this story; and I'm just getting involved, but I already love this community, too. So no further ado!

Author's Note: After a long hiatus, I'm back. I always finish stories, and y'all shouldn't fear this will be an exception. Thanks for everyone whose prodding helped motivate me to get this posted.

Catching-up help:  Lee went through the maelstrom, and Kara, Leoben, Lee, and Daniel crashed on the surface of Cylon Earth. They're back in time at the moment of that crash--canonically and chronologically, they're basically at the moment after Kara made it through the maelstrom. But of course they've been through a lot in the future that they're taking back to that moment.

Chapter 21, "Winning"
Words: ~4,100
A/N: Let me be honest here: I couldn't find a way to write this chapter that didn't feel a little disappointing. There's nothing I hate more than ends being perfectly tied up, or redemption coming too cheaply, but still, to write a story of partial redemption, while sort of real (well, given all the things that aren't real here) wasn't satisfying. Nor does this chapter betray all of the deep sympathy I have for Zak. But I guess I'll just bottle all of that up for another story, one less convoluted than this one. Consider yourself forewarned.

Chapter 20, "Between Life and Death"

Word Count: ~2,900
Rating: PG

A/N: Whew. It's a relief to publish this. This chapter explains a lot, I think. Kurt Vonnegut says good fiction doesn't require suspense, just characters you like. I think I might have been keeping too many secrets from y'all! So here are some. Enjoy 'em.

Chapter 19: "Orders"
Rating: PG-13
Warning: Some surgery referred to herein--surgery in which a female character has no control of her reproductive organs. Be advised if that's a non-starter for you (in which case, I sympathize--the scene was hard to write).
Word Count: ~2,000

Chapter 18: Contact

Word Count: ~2,400

Rating: PG-13

A/N: This is my favorite chapter in a while. (It's been pretty grim, hasn't it?) Also, huge thanks to everyone who's commented—I never realized how much it really makes a huge difference in writing when you feel like you're talking to someone. Y'all have been great someones.

Chapter 17: The Sevens
In the Whole World (WIP)

Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~5,400
A/N: The first mysteries of Petra—and how Kara fits into it—revealed. It's fun to write Lee when he's figuring out how to play emotional offense. Next chapter should be following soon. (Ugh, I can't believe this one took me so long to post. I need to quit my day job, obviously.)

Title: “The Easy Question”
Summary: When the gods bring you a blessing, you can’t tell ‘em they’ve got the wrong house. (AU in an undestroyed Caprica City)
Characters: Kara & Lee
Rating: NC-17 for explicit sexual situations
Author Notes: A gift for indigo419 for the [info]pilots_presents challenge and probably the most fun I've had writing BSG fic.

Chapter16/?
Words: ~6,100
A/N:
Courage! Tragedy! Revelation! A new mission! A return! All is being set up for the rest of the story. Sorry it's taken me a while; I've had a bit of a week. Got a long one here, though, so sink your teeth in when you've got a minute, y'all.

"Theory of Cognitive Estrangement"
Rating: T (for "tame enough to air on network television")
A BSG/Community Crossover written for The Applecart challenge 011
General spoiler for, oddly enough, the movie Super 8

Story dedicated to scifishipper and workerbee73 'cause they're awesome and 'cause I know that they love Community (which makes them doubly awesome). Also, pressure's on now for that West Wing crossover, lady.
